Shandong Lianmeng Starts up Urea Project

With a total investment of RMB650 million, the 180 000 t/a
synthetic ammonia, 300 000 t/a urea and 60 000 t/a methanol
project recently was put on stream by Shandong Lianmeng Chemical
Group Co., Ltd. located in Shouguang, Shandong province. It is
the first phase of the 360 000 t/a synthetic ammonia, 600 000
t/a urea and 120 000 t/a methanol project, which has a total
investment of RMB1.2 billion and was jointly invested by
Shandong Lianmeng Chemical Group Co., Ltd. and Shanxi Jincheng
Coal Industry Group.  
     Construction of the first-phase project was started in July
2005, and over 10 terms of advanced domestic technology were
adopted, including alcohol alkylation. After completion, the
first-phase project will help increase its sales revenue by
RMB600 million per year. It is planned that construction will
be started on the second-phase project in 2007 and completed in
February 2008.
