Yinguang Completes TDI Expansion

On December 15th, 2006 the first phase of the 100 thousand t/a
TDI (toluene diisocynate) expansion project successfully
conducted trial run in Gansu Yinguang Chemical Industrial Co.,
Ltd. located in Baiyin, Gansu province. Qualified TDI products
have been manufactured today. The 100 thousand t/a TDI expansion
project is executed by three phases. In the first phase,
renovation was conducted on the existing TDI200 unit, TDI400
unit and some related facilities, which make the capacity of the
TDI400 unit reach 30 thousand t/a. The second phase aims to
expand the capacity of the production line to 50 thousand t/a.
The third phase will make the capacity of the existing TDI1400
unit increase from 20 thousand t/a to 50 thousand t/a. Finally
the TDI capacity of the company will reach 100 thousand t/a.
   Construction of the expansion project was started on October
18th, 2006. The renovated TDI400 unit has operated smoothly
since its putting into trial production on December 15th, 2006.
The second phase of the expansion project will be begun in 2007.
In addition, the DNT (dinitrotoluene) expansion project has been
started in the company. The existing DNT production line was
expanded from 80 thousand t/a to 100 thousand t/a in October 2006,
and will reach a 200 thousand t/a capacity at the end of 2007.
