Explosion in Sinopec Baling
On January 9th, 2007 an explosion took place at the ammonia
oximation unit of the caprolactam department in Sinopec Baling
Petrochemical Co., Ltd. (Sinopec Baling) located in Yueyang,
Hunan province. No injury has been found. According to the local
environmental protection department, the accident hasn't caused
any environmental pollution.
　　Situated around Dongting Lake, the caprolactam capacity in
Sinopec Baling is 140 000 t/a. Specific reason is being
conducted.
　　
Fire in Changzhou Shunyuan Chemical Plant
On January 6th, 2006 a chemical raw material warehouse caught
fire in Changzhou Shunyuan Chemical Plant in Wujin District,
Changzhou, Jiangsu province. During the accident, there were
around 20 tons of chemicals including propane in the warehouse.
    According to a principal in the plant, the accident is
perhaps caused by the spark made by some workers who were
lighting rubbish outside the warehouse.

Fire in Shanghai Feili Fine Chemical Plant
On December 28th, 2006 a workshop caught fire and got exploded
in Shanghai Feili (in Chinese phonetic alphabet) Fine Chemical
Plant located in Minhang District, Shanghai. The whole workshop
with all equipment was completely destroyed but no one injured
in the accident.
   No further information is disclosed by the company.
