300 000 T/A Coal Tar Project Phase-I Puts on Stream

The first phase of the 300 000 t/a coal tar project funded by
Shanxi Coking Co., Ltd. with a total investment of RMB900 million
passed the appraisal sponsored by Shanxi Economic Commission on
September 23rd, 2006. It shows that the coal tar project in the
company has been put on stream. The first phase started
construction in March 2004 and an investment of RMB550 million
has already been used. The 300 000 t/a coal tar project will
construct 13 main units and some public facilities, including
33 varieties of products for 6 series. The first phase has
completed 7 units today. Seventeen varieties of products can be
manufactured, including light oil, phenol, commercial
naphthalene, denaturing asphalt, etc.
