Explosion in Mengtai Fine Chemical Co., Ltd.
On September 21st, 2006, an explosion happened at an extracting
agent production workshop in Mengtai Fine Chemical Co., Ltd.
located in Qingshan District of Baotou, Inner Mongolia. The
accident caused the workshop to collapse but no injury happened.

Explosion in Uctltec New Material Co., Ltd.
On September 20th, 2006, an explosion broke out at a chemical
workshop of Uctltec New Material Co., Ltd. located in Jiujiang
District of Wuhu, Anhui province. The accident caused 1 death
and 2 injuries. No further information has been disclosed yet.
  It is released that the company is a private chemical company
to mainly manufacture high polymer.

Explosion in Hongtai Chemical Co., Ltd.
On September 18th, 2006, an explosion suddenly broke out at a
chlorine tank in Hongtai Chemical Co., Ltd. located in Qiaotou
Town of Jiangyan, Jiangsu province. The injury case hasn’t been
clarified yet.
   One worker from the company said that a transportation truck
delivering dangerous chemical toluene entered the site when the
electrostatic charge brought with the truck made toluene burn,
finally causing the chlorine tank around to explode.

Fire in Guangzhou Xieda Rubber Co., Ltd.
On September 15th, 2006, a fire broke out in Xieda Rubber Co.,
Ltd. located in Dayong Town of Panyu District, Guangzhou of
Guangdong province. The fire happened at an agitation workshop
used for storing chemical goods such as toluene to manufacture
rubber products. Six thousand workers made emergency evacuation
and no one injured.
   It is said that one worker put together various chemicals
which conducted chemical reaction, maybe resulting in the fire.
Specific reason is being conducted.

Rosin Leakage in Songchuan Chemical Co., Ltd.
On September 21st, 2006, rosin leakage happened in Songchuan
Chemical Co., Ltd. located in Qimen County, Anhui province,
which made local water body pollute by excessive turpentine
content. Some of the local residents drank polluted water but
no poisoning cases have been proved yet.
    According to the local environmental protection department,
the company was forced to stop production for investigation.
Judging from the test result, the PH value, the content of
chemicals and harmful wastes have all returned to the normal
standard. It is released that the leakage accident was caused
by a worker’s unwarranted absence. The company put into trial
production 3 months ago and hasn’t passed the environmental
evaluation conducted by relevant departments.
