Fire in Maonan Dadi Petrochemical Plant
On September 17th, 2006, a fire broke out in Maonan Dadi
Petrochemical Plant located in Maonan District of Maoming,
Guangdong province. One fuel tank car caught fire and burnt down.
There are 10 fuel tanks around. Three hundred people made
emergency evacuation and no one injured.
   This plant is a private company and mainly engages in the
production of bitumen, ink solvent oil, etc.

Fire in Daqing Petrochemical Company Ltd.
On September 11th, 2006, a fire happened in a production workshop
of CNPC Daqing Petrochemical Co., Ltd. No. 1 Plant in Daqing,
Heilongjiang province. The accident didn't cause any injury or
environmental pollution. According to the preliminary
investigation, the valve damage resulted in this accident.

Explosion in Hangzhou Bay Fine Chemical Industry Park
On September 8th, 2006, an explosion happened at a reactor in
No.503 workshop of Zhejiang NHU Company Ltd. Shangyu Branch
located in Hangzhou Bay Fine Chemical Industry Park of Shangyu,
Zhejiang province. The accident happened in the hydrofuran
recovery process with 17 people got burnt. According to the
environmental protection department, the air quality has met the
environmental standard. Emergency water system has been start
up with all the waste water sent to the local waste water
treatment plant.

Fire in Jiaqilong Metallurgical Chemical
On September 5th, 2006, a fire broke out in the calcium carbide
workshop of Jiaqilong Metallurgical Chemical Co., Ltd. located
in Qingtongxia city of Ningxia. It is released that the accident
was caused by the fall of calcium carbide during the operation.
Nine people got burnt in the accident, of which 2 were critically
burnt.

Fire in Beijing Tongyi Petroleum Chemical
On September 4th, 2006, a big fire suddenly broke out at one
boiler in the lithium grease workshop of Beijing Tongyi
Petroleum Chemical Plant in Daxing District of Beijing. No one
injured in the accident and large amount of raw material and
solid additive to produce lithium grease around the boiler
wasn't lit up.

Leakage in Dajiang Compound Fertilizer
On September 3rd, 2006, sulfur dioxide leakage happened at a 600
000 t/a STA (sulfur-to-acid) unit during the trial production
process in Dajiang Compound Fertilizer Co., Ltd. located in
Yichang, Hubei province. 184 people received medical inspection
after the accident with 7 person poisoned.

Fire on Propylene Pipeline
On August 25th, 2006, due to the propylene leakage a fire broke
out on the 50 mm propylene pipeline from Sinopec Beijing Yanhua
Petrochemical Company Ltd. to Beijing No.4 Chemical Works in
Fangshan District of Beijing. The propylene accident was caused
by a company whose excavator damaged that propylene pipeline
during the engineering construction. No injury has been released.
Relevant measures had been taken to control the fire. According
to Beijing Environmental Protection Administration, no serious
effect was brought to the neighboring environment.
