New DME Preparation Process

The dimethyl ether (DME) production technology using the
cationic ion liquid catalytic reaction process developed by
Sichuan Dakete Chemical Technology Co., Ltd. has a methanol
conversion rate of over 98% and a dimethyl ether selectivity of
99.5%. The technology recently passed the research achievement
appraisal organized by Sichuan Science and Technology Bureau.
    DME is an important chemical raw material, a clean fuel and
a fuel additive. It can also be used as intermediate for gasoline
and olefins and ideal substitute for diesel or LPG. It has
extensive applications in pharmaceutical and pesticide sectors.
To remove defects in the vapor-phase dehydration process,
Sichuan Dakete Chemical Technology Co., Ltd. chose cationic ion
liquid catalyst and "liquid-liquid-gas" process and developed
the cationic ion liquid catalytic reaction process for DME
production. With this technology, producing one ton of DME only
needs 1.42 tons of methanol.
   Besides, the research achievement can also effectively deal
with the corrosion and control the generation of corrosion in
production.
