Explosion in Jiangsu Yancheng Fuyuan Chemical Co., Ltd.
On July 29th, 2006 an explosion broke out in Jiangsu Yancheng
Fuyuan Chemical Co., Ltd. in Linhai town of Sheyang county
located in Yancheng, Jiangsu province. Twenty-two workers died
in the accident. It is released that due to worker's wrong
operation, the explosion took place on a department during the
commissioning test run and caused the department to collapse.
   Jiangsu Yancheng Fuyuan Chemical Co., Ltd. is a Sino-Germany
company with major products of fluorobenzene, 2,4-dichloro
fluorobenzene, etc.

Combustion in a Shanghai Yuanda Peroxide Co., Ltd.
The explosion and combustion of a 40 000 t/a hydrogen peroxide
unit happened on July 28th, 2006 in Shanghai Yuanda Peroxide Co.,
Ltd. located in Baoshan district of Shanghai. According to the
preliminary investigation, 4 workers got injured but no
environmental pollution happened in the accident.

Explosion in Anhui Jinbang Medicine Chemical Co., Ltd.
On July 30th, 2006 a big fire broke out in a sodium methoxide
production department of Anhui Jinbang Medicine Chemical Co.,
Ltd. located in Laian county of Chuzhou, Anhui province. It is
released that for the high temperature, sodium storing in the
warehouse caught fire and burnt the whole warehouse.
    The company mainly engages in the research and development
of fine chemicals, drug intermediates and biochemical reagents.
Leading products include diethyl malonate, diethyl ether, solid
sodium methoxide, etc.

Explosion in Dairen Chemical (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd.
On July 18th, 2006 an explosion broke out on a waste water
processing tank in the EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate) emulsion
department in Dairen Chemical (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd. in Yizheng,
Jiangsu province. With 1 death and 1 injury, the accident was
caused by the explosion of the vinyl acetate steam under open
fire in the waste water processing tank.
   In addition, on the same day sodium salt leakage happened and
caused fire at East Chemical Co., Ltd. also located in Yizheng,
Jiangsu province. All the stored goods got burnt in the accident.
The causes of both accidents are being investigated now.
