PTA Oxidation Catalyst Recovery Technology

The project for the development of the PTA oxidation catalyst
recycle technology undertaken by Yizheng Chemical Fiber Co., Ltd.
recently passed experts' appraisal organized by the Sci-Tech
Development Department of Sinopec Group.
    The project conducted modification to the PTA production
process and the oxidation catalyst recovery process. The market
competitive edge is therefore enhanced and the PTA production
cost is reduced. In the two PTA units introduced by Yizheng
Chemical Fiber Co., Ltd., the second unit uses the oxalic acid
precipitation process from DuPont for oxidation catalyst
recovery.
    In the research of the new technology, the company has
managed to upgrade equipment functioning and efficiency through
the readjustment to the reaction temperature and the
optimization to the catalyst recovery process.
