Enzyme Preparation for Organophosphorus Pesticide Degradation

The Biotechnology Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of
Agricultural Sciences has recently developed an enzyme
preparation for the degradation of organophosphorus pesticides.
The product has already passed experts' appraisal. It can
effectively degrade organophosphorus pesticides and remove
pesticide residues in agricultural products.
    According to the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences,
the use of organophosphorus degradation enzymes to degrade
organophosphorus pesticides is the best method that has the
great safety and can thoroughly remove pesticide residues in
agricultural products. By treating waste water from pesticide
producers with organophosphorus degradation enzyme solution can
bring the waste water discharge up to environmental protection
requirements. The enzyme preparation can also have chemical
reactions with residual pesticides on vegetable and fruit
surfaces, damage the structure of ingredients with acute
toxicity and therefore convert ingredients with acute toxicity
into water-soluble small molecules with no toxicity.
