New Functional Plastic Membrane Material

A high-performance functional plastic membrane material
developed by Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry CAS has
recently completed pilot test and trial production and also
passed the experts’ appraisal organized by Jilin Science and
Technology Department. The material effectively protects
household electric appliances, automobiles and construction
materials from erosion, pollution and scratching, leaves no
residues and no migration in protected objects and has no
pollution in production process.
   It is a new high-tech product with high added value. China
only has a limited capacity of functional composite membrane
materials today.
   With the support from Jilin Science and Technology Department,
Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry CAS started to
undertake the project for the "research and development of
high-performance functional plastic membrane materials" in 2003.
It has used the three-ply or multi-ply melt co-extrusion
blow-molding process and solved quite a few key technical
problems. High-performance and low-cost membrane materials
already developed include protective varieties, packing
varieties and bonding varieties. All of them have excellent
features in mechanical strength, steam inhibition and oxygen
blocking.
