Blast in a Chemical Plant in Anhui

On June 16th, 2006 there was an explosion in the powder
emulsification department of Dun'an Chemical Co., Ltd. located
in Dangtu county of Maanshan, Anhui province. The accident
caused 10 deaths and 26 injuries with the whole department fully
destroyed. Up till now, further information is being conducted.

Chemical Raw Material Leakage in a Chemical Plant of Shanghai
On May 28th, 2006 the reactor pipe rupture caused chemical raw
material leakage in Desano Chemical Plant located in Nanhui
district of Shanghai. Two workers were injured. Dimethyl
sulfoxide rushed out due to the bolt coming-off in the reactor.

Chemical Raw Material Leakage in Jiangxi
On June 15th, 2006 chemical raw material leakage happened in a
chemical plant located in Dongqiao town of Pingxiang, Jiangxi
province, causing poisoning to more than 20 persons.
   A phosphorus chloride raw material storage tank was not
sealed well on June 14th and rainwater sipped in. The worker's
wrong operation with water toward the smoke aggravated the
chemical reaction between phosphorus chloride and water.
   Pingxiang Chengsheng Chemical Co., Ltd. is funded by Jiangsu
Jingjiang Hongli Chemical Co., Ltd. It is mainly engaged in the
production and operation of fine chemical raw materials. The
leading product is environmental friendly dimethyl
orthoacetate.

Explosion in Shangyu Yinbang Chemical Plant in Zhejiang
On June 11th, 2006 there was a sudden explosion in the toluene
distillation recovery unit of Shangyu Yinbang Chemical Plant
located in Zhejiang province. One worker was injured. The
accident did not cause atmospheric pollution.

Explosion in Longxin Chemical Company in Zhejiang
On June 15th, 2006, an explosion broke out in the hydrogen
peroxide department of Longxin Chemical Co., Ltd. located in the
suburb of Longquan, Zhejiang province. Two workers disappeared
and one worker got badly burnt in the accident.
    The explosion first occurred in the hydrogen peroxide
department and then happened in another department at noon. No
further information was disclosed. It is released that major
products in this company are hydrogen peroxide,
dihydroterpineol, terpineol and so on.

Fire in Shaanxi Hanxing Biochem Company
A fire broke out on June 6th, 2006 in Shaanxi Hanxing Biochem
Co., Ltd. located in Yang county of Hanzhong, Shaanxi province.
The soap stock soaked in gasoline suddenly had combustion in
baking and resulted in a big fire.
   The company is mainly engaged in the production of
intermediates for steroid hormone drugs. Leading products
include sodium acetate and 16-dehydropregnenolone acetate
(16-DPA).

Fire in Kangpeng Specialty Chemicals Company in Jiangsu
The trifluorophenyl boric acid workshop of Kangpeng Specialty
Chemicals Co., Ltd. caught fire in Taixing Economic Development
Zone, Jiangsu province on June 1st, 2006. There were no
casualties.
