Low-Cost Antibacterial Fiber Developed

A new antibacterial fiber has recently been developed by Acrylic Fiber Plant of CNPC Daqing Petrochemical Company Ltd.    The antibacterial fiber is safe to human bodies and has extensive applications. In May 2005 the acrylic fiber plant used the pilot acrylic fiber R&D base with an investment of over RMB30 million as the center, introduced new antibacterial agents from outside sources and started the research. A low-cost antibacterial fiber was developed in September of the same year. Tests made by the Institute of Physics and Chemistry CAS prove that the product can effectively resist staphylococcin and colibacillus.
