Research of New Molecular Magnetic Materials

The project for the "research and development of new molecular magnetic materials" undertaken by Fujian Research Institute of Physical Structures has recently passed appraisal. The project team uses the solution process, the diffusion process, the solvent thermal process and the grinding process to conduct reactions between organic ligands with conjugated effect and rare earth with unmatched electrons, as well as transition metal ions. Four series of compounds have been synthesized. The focus is laid on the research of magnetic and optical properties. Some compounds display interesting magnetic and optical properties. A preliminary summary has also been made on rules of the magnetic mutual action between rare earth and transitional metal ions.
