New Method for Salicylate Production Wins State Patent

The new method for the basic alkyl salicylate production developed by Dushanzi Petrochemical Company Ltd. won the invention patent of the state on March 7th, 2006.    Basic alkyl salicylate as an important oil product additive has unique high-temperature oxidization resistance, excellent detergent dispersion, small ash content and no caking. It is therefore extensively used in fuel oils and internal combustion engine oils.    The new method for the basic alkyl salicylate production has solved the problem of co-precipitation in the composite use of detergent dispersants in lubricant additives. Basic alkyl calcium salicylate with better compatibility to basic alkyl calcium sulfophenate can be produced through a relatively simple process. The new method has the features of simple production and processing and stable product property and can therefore effectively reduce production cost.
