Fire in a Chemical Plant in Liaoning

The workshop of a chemical plant (small refinery using the indigenous method) located in Taihe District of Jinzhou city of Liaoning province caught fire on February 18th, 2006. The fire was caused by oil leakage due to the operation of workers in violation of regulations. Thanks to timely rescue, no further explosion happened.

Explosion in a Sulfur Plant in Nanjing

A remote sulfur plant located in Dongping Town of Lishui County in Nanjing city, Jiangsu province had an explosion on February 24th, 2006. The factory building was blown to pieces, but there was no casualty.

Explosion and Fire in a Chemical Plant in Zhejiang

The reaction unit of the chemicals extraction workshop in a chemical plant located in Tonglu city of Zhejiang province had explosion and fire on March 6th, 2006. One person was burnt.     The accident was caused by the contact of methanol stored in the workshop with open fire in the operation.

Explosion in a Pharmaceutical Factory in Heilongjiang

An explosion happened in the workshop of one Pharmaceutical Company in Harbin city, Heilongjiang province on March 2nd, 2006. Several drug pots in the workshop were burnt. 4 workers were badly injured and one of them died on the way to hospital.     According to the preliminary analysis, the unduly high temperature of drug pots in cleaning led to fire and an explosion finally took place.

Explosion in a Chemical Plant in Guizhou

A chemical raw material plant located in suburbs of Guiyang city of Guizhou province suddenly had an equipment explosion on February 8th, 2006. The factory building was instantly leveled to the ground and several workers on duty were wounded.     According to the technical engineer of the chemical raw material plant, they were making equipment repair at that time. Perhaps the unduly high concentration of carbon monoxide gas triggered the explosion of the cloth collector.

Big Fire in a Chemical Plant in Zhenjiang

A fine chemical plant located in the western suburbs of Zhenjiang city of Jiangsu province had a big fire on February 12th, 2006. Thanks to timely rescue, no explosion of hazardous chemicals happened.

Big Fire in a Rubber Factory in Guangdong

The warehouse of a rubber factory located in Luocun of Nanhai District in Foshan city of Guangdong province suddenly caught fire on February 19th, 2006. The fire caused no casualty. Investigation into the cause of the fire is being made recently.

Explosion and Fire in a Spice Plant in Guangdong

Due to careless operation, an explosion and fire took place during new product tests in a spice plant of Yunfu city of Guangdong province on February 9th, 2006. It was confirmed by 20:30 that day that there were already 5 deaths and 12 injuries.    The spice plant is a private enterprise mainly engaged in the purchase, processing and sales of cinnamon and cinnamon bark oil.

Accident in a Methanol Plant in Daqing

On February 20th, 2006 a casualty accident happened in a 200 000 t/a methanol expansion project undertaken by a chemical construction company in Daqing city of Heilongjiang province. 3 workers died and 3 others were wounded on the spot.     It is reported that 3 workers went into an unfinished pipe culvert to conduct technical inspection but did not come out. Several workers were dispatched to the accident spot for rescue but all got injuries of different degrees.    Tests by firemen with gas detector discovered no toxic gas at the accident spot.

Toxic Gas Leakage in a Chemical Plant in Shaanxi

The toxic gas leakage taking place in a chemical company in Pucheng county of Shaanxi province on February 17th, 2006 caused 2 deaths and 1 serious injury. There are still no reports on the type of gas that was leaked.
