 Application of Flue Gas Pneumatic Desulfurization Technology

The project for the “development of large-scale boiler flue gas pneumatic desulfurization commercial technology” jointly completed by Beijing Yanhua Petrochemical Co., Ltd. and China Aerospace Science Corporation passed technical appraisal on February 16th, 2006.    The technology is being used in the desulfurization of the tail flue gas in the two 310 t/h CFB boilers of the first thermal power station oil-fired boiler renovation project being conducted by Beijing Yanhua Petrochemical Co., Ltd.    The technology was first used in the treatment of flue gas from the 22 t/h water slurry boiler in Beijing Yanhua Petrochemical Co., Ltd. The desulfurization unit made a synchronous smooth running for 335 days from September 2004 together with the water slurry boiler. Results of the commercial application show that compared with the traditional empty tower spraying desulfurization technology, the new technology has the advantages of large gas-liquid contact specific area, low liquid-gas ratio, excellent mass transfer effect and high flue gas purification rate in an equal amount of absorbing liquid. The discharge of effluents can reach the standard and the running cost can also be effectively reduced. The discharge amount of sulfur dioxide can be reduced by around 1 800 tons and the cost for the extra discharge of pollutants can be down by RMB1.137 million a year.
