 BCE High-Activity Ethylene Slurry Polymerization Catalyst

BCE high-activity ethylene slurry polymerization catalyst developed by Beijing Research Institute of Chemical Industry has recently passed the evaluation organized by Sinopec Science and Technology Department. It is another innovation made by the institute in the slurry-process PE catalyst sector after the development of BCH catalyst.     Along with the development of PE technologies and high-performance resins, more stringent requirements on catalysts have been raised in the commercial production. Beijing Research Institute of Chemical Industry therefore started the research and development of new-generation ethylene slurry polymerization catalysts in January 2004. Technical personnel in the institute completed the selection of BCE catalyst dissolution systems, the research of catalyst formulations and the determination of lab test formulations at the end of September 2005. Compared with similar catalysts being used today, BCE catalyst has the remarkable advantages of high catalytic activity, narrow polymer particle size distribution, small fine powder amount and high polymer bulk density. Besides, BCE catalyst also has the features of simple production process, low production cost and few hexane extractable compounds. The BCE catalyst technology has acquired complete intellectual property right and already applied for 6 patents in China and 1 patent in foreign countries.
