10 000 T/A Citric Acid Project
                 Starts Production in Jilin
The 10 000 t/a citric acid project  in  Songyuan  City,   a
major project of Jilin Province, started production on Nov
. 15. The project has a total investment of 146 million yuan.
It uses the domestic  advanced  fermentation  process  and
introduces the refining process and equipment from Austria
. The project has a processing capacity of 23 000 t/a  corn
and a production capacity of 10 000 t/a citric  acid.   It
can also produce corn protein feed  and  corn  germ.   The
completion of the project will make the already  saturated
citric acid market even more slack.
