100 000 T/A Polyester Project Starts in Jiangsu

A 100 000 t/a polyester project, the first   Chinese- built
large-scale polyester unit  in  China,   recently  started
construction at Yizheng Chemical Fiber Corp.
  The  100  000  t/a  polyester  unit  adopted  a  domestic
technology jointly developed by Yizheng Chemical Fiber Corp,
universities and  design  institutes.   In  recent  years,
  research  people  mastered  the   regular   patterns   of
esterifying  and  condensation  polymerization  through  a
large number of experiments, and ascertained  the  process
parameters and material balance for large-scale  polyester
plant.  Yizheng  Chemical  Fiber  Corp  has  applied  this
complete set of technology on its polyester expansions  in
four production lines, obtaining a 30% increase in capacity.
  The 100 000 t/a  polyester  unit  will  produce  ordinary
polyester chip, and also will produce bulk polyester  chip
for film and bottle uses.
