Biggest Direct Spinning Filament Project Put on Stream
   - 11 production lines with a capacity of 90 000t/a filament
     to  be completed in Yizheng Chemical Fiber Co., Ltd.
     within the year
The first and second production  lines  of    the    direct
spinning    filament project in Yizheng  Chemical Fiber Co.,
Ltd. were  completed  and  put  on stream on Oct.  17  and
produced qualified product.   This  is  the  first  direct
  spinning  filament   project   in   China   Petrochemical
Corporation system.
Direct spinning does not need cooling  of  polyester  melt
into chips.   It  is  a  development  trend  in  worldwide
filament production. The  90  000  t/a    direct  spinning
filament  project  in  Yizheng  has  the  advantages    of
great production scale, stable product quality,   complete
  variety  range  and excellent dyeing  property.   It  can
reduce production cost and  achieve  far  better  economic
returns than indirect spinning process.
  The 90  000  t/a  direct  spinning  filament  project  in
Yizheng is one of  the 3 such projects in  the  near- term
program of China Petrochemical Corporation. The project is
at the advanced level of the 90's. It will have a total  of
11 production lines. The other 9 production lines will  be
completed within the year. After  the  completion  of  the
project, Yizheng  Chemical Fiber Co., Ltd. will become the
biggest direct spinning filament producer in China.
