Ethylene Renovation and Expansion Completed
            in Qilu Petrochemical Corporation

The 450 000 t/a ethylene renovation and  expansion  project
in Qilu Petrochemical Corporation is fully  completed  and
put on stream.
The ethylene unit has expanded from 330 000 t/a to 450  000
t/a. The  cracked  gasoline  hydrogenation  and  aromatics
extraction unit has increased a processing capacity of 150
000 t/a. The butanol/octanol unit has expanded from 70 000
t/a to 135 000 t/a.  The  butadiene  extraction  unit  has
expanded from 56 000 t/a to 109 000 t/a.  A  140  000  t/a
LDPE unit has been constructed.
The product output has greatly increased  after  renovation
and expansion. The daily  ethylene  output  has  increased
from 990 tons to 1 440 tons, a rise  of  45%.   The  daily
propylene output has increased from 460 tons to 660  tons,
a rise of 45%.   The  daily  cracked  C4  cut  output  has
increased from 320 tons to 460 tons, a rise of  45%.   The
annual output increased by 100 000 tons for aromatics, 120
000 tons for plastics, 30 000 tons for  butanol,   35  000
tons for octanol, 74 000 tons for benzene family and 7 000
tons for MTBE. Besides, the  expansion  of  the  butadiene
-styrene rubber unit to be constructed later will  increase
the output by 50 000 tons.
