100 000 T/A Methanol Unit in Daqing Oilfield
                    Starts Production
The 100 000  t/a  methanol  unit  in  Daqing  Oilfield  has
started production.  The  450  million  RMB  unit  started
construction in April 1996.  It  is  a  major  project  of
Daqing Oilfield in the strategy of "promoting the chemical
  industry  by  stable  production  and   ensuring   stable
production by the chemical industry".
The unit uses the advanced process of steam conversion  and
low-pressure synthesis. The process has  the  features  of
low energy  consumption,   high  product  quality  and  no
pollution.
