Henan Anpeng Trona Mine Soon to Be Developed
Henan Anpeng Trona Mine, the biggest in China, will soon be
  jointly  developed.   After  the  first  phase  technical
renovation, the production capacity can reach 200 000 t/a.
Henan Oilfield will become China's biggest production base
of low-salt heavy soda ash at that time.
The trona mine is located in Tongbo County of Henan. It has
a large mine area, a high ore grade and  a  rich  resource
deposit. The proven reserve is 48.49  million  tons.   The
mine was discovered by Henan Oilfield in  oil  prospecting
in 1976.
To use the resource in economic development, Henan Oilfield
constructed a 10 000 t/a trona experimental plant in 1992.
However, due to problems in capital and  technology,   the
plant has not made large scale production.   In  order  to
turn the resource advantage into economic advantage, Henan
Oilfield, Yuanxing Trona Co., Ltd. of Inner  Mongolia  and
Tongbo County State Assets  Operation  Co.   have  reached
agreement to  conduct  inter- regional  and  inter- sector
cooperation to jointly  develop  the  high  quality  trona
resources.
