Third Phase of Nantong Cellulose Acetate Co., Ltd.
                       Starts Construction
After the completion of the first and  the  second  phases  of  Nantong
Cellulose Acetate  Co. ,   Ltd.   jointly  set  up  by  China  Tobacco
Corporation and Celanese of the United States in 1987, the third phase
has recently started construction.
The third phase will add a capacity of 25 000 t/a  cellulose  diacetate
to the project and have an investment of 99.4819 million U.S. dollars.
After the completion of the third phase,   the  company  will  have  a
capacity of 50 000 t/a cellulose diacetate and 20 000 t/a tow  and  an
annual sales profit of 350 million yuan.
