Large Investment Made by Jilin Chemical Fiber Co., Ltd.
                          in Pollution Control
Beijing  Sangde  Environmental  Protection  Industrial  Group  recently
signed a contract with Jilin Chemical Fiber Co., Ltd. on undertaking a
60 000 t/d waste water treatment project.
Jilin Chemical Fiber Co., Ltd. is  a  large  enterprise  based  on  the
production of viscose chemical fibers. It has an existing waste  water
processing capacity of 40 000 t/d. The capacity and  effect  of  waste
water treatment can not meet the need in the  enterprise  development.
The company has decided to expand the filament unit to 26 million  t/a
and put a large investment in expanding  the  waste  water  processing
  capacity  to  60  000  t/a.   The  project  will  use  the  secondary
biotreatment process.  After  the  completion  of  the  project,   the
industrial waste water  discharged  by  the  company  will  reach  the
discharge standard defined by the state. The total investment  of  the
project is around 57 million yuan, and the project is expected  to  be
put into operation in September 1999.
Beijing Sangde Environmental Protection Industrial Group,  the  project
undertaker, is a specialized environmental engineering company engaged
in technology development, project construction and complete equipment
supply. It has completed the design and  construction  of  nearly  200
environmental protection projects in the recent years.
