Tar Processing Project Completes Wet Commissioning

The first phase of the 300 000 t/a tar processing project in Shanxi Coking Co., Ltd. has recently been completed and production will hopefully start at the end of 2005.    The project was launched in March last year. It has a total investment of over RMB890 million and can produce 32 varieties of fine chemical products such as phenol series, naphthalene series, scrubbing oil series, anthracene oil series, asphalt series and oil products. The technology is from IRH of France. Sales revenue of RMB540 million can be generated for the company after the completion of the project. The project is said to be one with the greatest single-unit tar processing capacity, the most advanced technology and the most new product varieties in China. The first phase is already completed today. Single-machine wet commissioning is over and train wet commissioning will soon start. 16 product varieties can hopefully start production at the end of 2005. The profit can be increased by RMB90 million and the sales revenue in the company can be upgraded by 30% at that time.     With the completion of the project, the discharge of pollutants in the company can be greatly reduced. The project uses closed loop in design. Waste gas, waste water and waste residue undergo centralized treatment to reach discharge standards.
