PTMEG Project Startup in Jilin

Recently the 20 000 t/a PTMEG (polytetramethylene ether glycol) project was groundbreaking for its starting construction in Jilin Qianguo Refinery (JLQR). The project adopts the advanced process from America and PTG technology from Korea. The main material obtained from abundant corn in Songyuan, Jilin province where JLQR is located.    In March 2005, the 80 000 t/a tetrahydrofuran (THF) and 60 000 t/a PTMEG integrated production line came on stream by BASF at Shanghai Chemical Industrial Park in Caojing, Shanghai. Shanxi Sanwei Group has a capacity of 15 000 t/a PTMEG.
