Concentrated Compound Fertilizer Project Starts Production in Qingdao

The 200 000 t/a concentrated compound fertilizer project in Sumitomo Fertilizer (Qingdao) Co., Ltd., a joint venture of Qingdao Soda Ash Industrial Co., Ltd. and Sumitomo Shoji Kaisha of Japan, started production on July 14 and completed wet commissioning on July 20. The product quality has reached the design standard.    Qingdao Soda Ash Industrial Co., Ltd. and Sumitomo Shoji Kaisha of Japan jointly established Sumitomo Fertilizer (Qingdao) Co., Ltd. in June 2004. The company has a registered capital of US$7.0 million and Qingdao Soda Ash Industrial Co., Ltd. holds 60% equity.    The 200 000 t/a concentrated compound fertilizer project funded by the joint venture company with an investment of RMB130 million uses the world’s leading production process to produce a compound fertilizer with high concentration, differential variety, slow releasing, lasting effect and flexible nutrition adjustment. The special feature of the project is that differential product varieties with high nitrogen and potassium contents can be produced. The maximum nitrogen content can reach 22% and the maximum potassium content can reach 20%. The compound fertilizer has rich nutrient, nice appearance, great hardness and no air slaking. It is a high-quality variety in compound fertilizers and a unique compound fertilizer in China.      After the completion of the project, the sales revenue will reach around RMB390 million a year, the industrial chain will be extended and the core competitiveness in the chemical sector and the agrochemical sector will be enhanced.
