600 000 T/A PTA Project Starts Construction in Jiangyin

The PTA (purified terephthalic acid) project in Jiangsu Hailun Chemical Co., Ltd. jointly established by Jiangsu Sanfangxiang Group and Dragon of Taiwan started construction in Jiangyin Riverside Development Zone Jiangsu province on July 17. The project has a total investment of US$600 million and a capacity of 600 000 t/a PTA. It will be completed in two years. After the start of full-load production, the sales revenue can reach more than RMB10 billion a year.     PTA is an important basic chemical raw material for the polyester fiber production and its price keeps going up today. Jiangsu Sanfangxiang Group is a well-known chemical fiber producer in China. The output of its leading product polyester has reached 1.6 million tons a year and more than 1.2 million tons of PTA is needed a year. Dragon of Taiwan is mainly engaged in the production of chemical raw materials and chemical fibers in China mainland.
