Lithium Salt Production Line Completed in Baiyin

The 5 000 t/a lithium salt production line in Baiyin Zhabuye Lithium Plant was already completed and trial run was conducted smoothly recently. The completion of the project shows that Baiyin will become the largest lithium salt production base in China.    The plant is the largest lithium carbonate processing enterprise in China. Lithium carbonate can be first processed into metal lithium and then into lithium cells. The production chain is long and the development prospect is bright. The project has a total investment of RMB240 million and is a demonstrative project for the development and commercialization of lithium resources in Zhabuye of Tibet. The production line started wet commissioning on Oct. 1, 2004. During the wet commissioning, lithium carbonate extracted from salt lake brine reached a purity of 99.4%, being the highest level in the world.
