Chlor-Alkali Project Completed in Yinglite

The 120 000 t/a PVC and 100 000 t/a caustic soda project constructed by Ningxia Western PVC Company Ltd. started production on June 16.    The project has a total investment of RMB946 million. It started construction on July 28, 2003. Calcium carbide is used as raw material. Vinyl chloride monomer is first produced through the calcium carbide/acetylene process. Loose PVC resin with various specifications is then produced through the suspension polymerization process. The advanced ion-membrane caustic soda production process and the advanced falling-film caustic flake production process are introduced and hydrochloric acid and liquid chlorine are also co-produced. A mode of chain production featuring typical cyclic economics and optimal local resources allocation is formed.
