Acetic Acid Production Base in Zhenhai

The 30 000 t/a cellulose diacetate and 30 000 t/a commodity acetic anhydride project started construction in Zhejiang Zhenhai on June 10.    The project is jointly funded by Xi’an Hui’an Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. of China North Industries Group Corporation, Shaanxi Tobacco Industry Co., Ltd. of State Tobacco Monopoly Administration and China Investment Co., Ltd. of Daicel Chemical Industries, Ltd. Wood pulp and acetic acid are used as main raw materials to produce 30 000 tons of cellulose diacetate and 30 000 tons of commodity acetic anhydride a year. The project has a total investment of US$97.73 million and a registered capital of US$33.224 million. It will be completed and put on stream in September 2007.
