Russian Oil Receiving/Unloading Renovation Project in Nansan Oil Depot

The Russian oil receiving/unloading renovation project in Daqing Oilfield Nansan Oil Depot, a major project of the state, was completed and put on stream. 4 200 tons of crude oil in the first 70 tank cars from Russia was successfully received and unloaded on the morning of June 15.   According to the agreement signed between Chinese and Russian governments, Russia will export crude oil to China by rail. The export amount will be 10 million tons this year and reach more than 15 million tons next year. To ensure a smooth transportation of Russian crude oil after Manchuria Port, PetroChina decided at the end of last year to conduct renovation to Daqing Oilfield Nanshan Oil Depot.      The project has a total investment of RMB257 million. It includes 6 systems of railway, storage/transportation, sewage discharge, fight-fighting, power transmission and heat supply. The designed oil receiving/unloading amount is 12 million tons a year, being the largest in China. The technical level of oil loading rack is also the highest in China. The project is an important measure in the implementation of the crude oil import diversification strategy formulated by the state and can also provide a guarantee for the future massive import of Russian crude oil by rail.
