Polyolefin Catalyst Unit Put on Stream

China’s largest polyolefin catalyst production unit has recently been completed and put on stream in Sinopec Catalyst Beijing Aoda Petrochemical Co., Ltd. The completion of the unit has laid a foundation for Sinopec to further expand its polyolefin catalyst market share and also provided a guarantee for the company to make a sustained effective development of the polyolefin sector.      The unit has a design capacity of 1.3 million t/a and can produce NG catalyst for PP (polypropylene), BCS catalyst for PE (polyethylene) and N and DQ catalysts for PP. Automatic control is exercised in all production process of the new unit from feed charging, temperature rise and post-treatment. The output/energy ratio is 50% higher and the number of operators is 40% less than the original unit. The new unit holds a leading position in kettle-type units with intermittent operation in China. Besides, the new unit also features small equipment corrosion, low production cost, stable temperature control, even heat transfer, stable and uniform product quality comparing with the original unit. The production in the new unit is stable and all indexes have reached the control level.
