DMC Combined Unit Starts Wet Commissioning

The 20 000 t/a dimethyl carbonate (DMC) and 24 000 t/a propylene carbonate combined unit in Shandong Shida Shenghua Chemical Co., Ltd. located in Dongying, Shandong province started wet commissioning on May 18. Qualified DMC, propylene glycol and propylene carbonate have been produced.   The company is one of the high-tech enterprises in Shandong. It owns the right to import and export trade and has passed the ISO9001:2000 quality system certification. Since the completion of the first DMC production unit in June 2003 (CCR2003, No. 29), the products have been exported to Europe. The company has 5 production units today including a 30 000 t/a DMC unit, a 36 000 t/a propylene carbonate unit, a 1 000 t/a methyl carbonate and ethyl carbonate unit, a 1 000 t/a diethyl carbonate unit and a 500 t/a carbohydrazide unit. In the Sixth Shanghai Industrial Fair held in November 2004, CMC and the two-stage lift pipe catalytic cracking process and equipment won the silver prize of the fair.
