17 000 T/A Polyester Film Line Startup in Foshan

On May 24, 2005, DuPont Hongji Films Foshan Co., Ltd., a joint venture between DuPont Teijin Films China Ltd. and Foshan Plastics Group Co., Ltd., announced the successful startup of its new 17 000 t/a polyester film line. The new line is designed to world-class standards and is currently the largest volume polyester film line in China.  This follows the successful startup of a thick polyester film line in June 2003. Currently, the new line is under construction and will start production in the third quarter of this year. The new line is capable of producing high quality film in a thickness range from 6-125 micron and is the most advanced and cost competitive polyester film line in China. The line will enable DuPont Hongji to flexibly meet the needs of Chinese and export customers in quality, consistency and responsiveness.     The new thick polyester film investment is capable of manufacturing films from 50-350 micron. This investment is designed to produce differentiated polyester film products for domestic and other Asian export customers.         After start up, DuPont Hongji will have a 63 000 t/a capability and will continue to offer the most complete range of differentiated polyester films from 3.5 to 350 micron in Foshan, Guangdong and Ningbo, Zhejiang.
