Special Resin Base Started in Xiamen  

Tenglong Special Resin Base started formally construction in Xiamen, Fujian province recently by Xiamen Tenglong Company with an investment of US$313 million, which is the largest petrochemical project in Xiamen this year. Tenglong special resin production line will use the most advanced process in the world today with the largest single-line capacity and the lowest energy consumption in China. The raw material is supplied by Xianglu Petrochemical Company and the products will be applied in a lot of sectors such as packaging of drinking and foodstuff, radial tires and building materials.     The bottle-grade polyester chips project in the company, which has put on stream in February this year, reached a daily output of 900 tons in March. The company is planning to expand the capacity to 1 200 ton per day, being the largest bottle-grade polyester chips production line in the world.    The US$1.42 billion aromatics project is being constructed by Tenglong Company, and is scheduled for start-up by 2006. A source close to the company told that the company is planning to increase investment by US$300 million.     Xiamen Haicang Petrochemical Base is attracting some large companies to join in, so that the whole aromatics production chain and organic chemicals production chain will be completed on the basis of the existed Xianglu Petrochemical, Xianglu Chemical Fiber, Tenglong Special Resin and Tenglong Aromatics.
