Linde recently announced that it had signed a Letter of Intent with China’s largest offshore oil and gas producer, China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC)’s affiliated company CNOOC Energy Technology & Services to join force and complement each other’s advantages in exploring and promoting China’s hydrogen energy development.   

According to the Letter of Intent, the two companies will jointly invest in and explore the industrial applications of China’s hydrogen energy sector, especially the hydrogen power field. Linde has the leading technology, market experience and professional capabilities throughout the entire hydrogen energy industrial chain, including hydrogen energy production and supply, purification and liquefaction, storage, transport and the filling of hydrogen refueling stations. 

As for the hydrogen refueling process, Linde has the world’s leading patented core technology, such as ion compressor IC90 and liquid hydrogen pump CP3.0, which can effectively achieve lower energy consumption, longer service life and higher reliability. CNOOC is the third largest oil and gas producer in China, boasting relatively strong hydrogen producing capacity and a wide distribution of gas stations in coastal regions.
