Covestro launches high-content post-consumer recycled polycarbonates on its flagship store at 1688.com

As an innovative leader in sustainable polymer solutions, Covestro embraces the Circular Economy as a global guiding principle and focuses on four main areas to help realize resource-efficient Circular Economy, i.e., alternative raw materials, innovative recycling, renewable energy and joint solutions. The company announced that it is now offering post-consumer recycled (PCR) polycarbonates on its flagship store at 1688.com. With 75% recycled content, the PCR grade offered on 1688 reduces carbon footprint by 50% compared to the virgin grade.

Dow displays application cases of polyurethane, packaging and specialty plastics and silicone products

Focusing on sustainable development, Dow is displaying application cases of its polyurethane, packaging, and specialty plastics and high-performance silicone products and technologies at this exhibition. Visitors will see environment-friendly applications that include the polyurethane insulation materials used in Haier's ultra-low temperature cold chain, and the packaging and specialty plastics used in recycled plastic packaging bags, 3D loop cushions, polyolefin artificial leather backpacks, recycled plastic modifiers and polyolefin carpet tile backing.

Dow cooperates with the Nordic Danish shoe and leather goods brand ECCO and supplies to the latter with SILASTIC™ 3D 3335 liquid silicone rubber which is custom-made as shoe midsole for consumers. The optical-grade injectable MS series silicone elastomer delivers optimal performance to automotive and industrial lighting systems, enabling a longer service life and an economical cost system too. In addition to that, a new generation of SILASTIC™ silicone leather solutions are being unveiled. Meanwhile, Dow also showcases AMPLIFY™ silicone-enhanced polymer products which increase the usage of recycled plastics in Wood Plastic Composite (WPC) to deliver higher performance and throughput.
