On August 25, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) issued Guiding Opinions on Promoting Development of Energy Electronics Industry (Exposure Draft), calling for developing light energy, silicon energy, hydrogen energy, renewable energy, etc.; propelling coordinated development of upstream and downstream of energy electronics industrial and supply chains; etc.

In detail, research on new types of batteries (e.g. solid state batteries, sodium-ion batteries, hydrogen energy storage/fuel cells, etc.) will get more attention, and related standard system research will be strengthened. For enterprises engaged in hydrogen energy storage/fuel cells, they should make breakthroughs in key technologies, regarding efficient hydrogen production, galvanic pile, proton exchange membrane, membrane electrode materials, etc.
