China’s annual output of natural gas grew more than 10 billion cubic meters for a fourth year in a row, and is forecast to exceed 186 billion cubic meters in 2020, said Zhang Jianhua, director of the National Energy Administration.

Domestic output of crude oil rebounded for two consecutive years, and may reach 194 million tons in 2020, attributable to factors such as historical high of output in Changqing and Tarim oilfields, scale development of unconventional oil and gas resources, etc., Zhang added.

At present, clean energy contributes over 65% to energy consumption increments, and annual growth of natural gas consumption exceeds 10%. Proportions of non-fossil energy and electricity in total energy consumption are both up, increasing to 15.8% and 27%, respectively.
