China’s First Private LNG Terminal Under Construction

On December 19, 2020, the construction of Chaozhou Huaying LNG terminal, the largest private-owned LNG terminal project in China, officially kicked off at Raoping county of Chaozhou City.  

Chaozhou Huaying LNG terminal is a large-scale energy infrastructure construction project integrating LNG receiving and unloading, storage and transportation, and transmission and distribution. It is built to mainly receive and transport the imported LNG to Chaozhou, eastern Guangdong, Guangdong and surrounding areas through the high-pressure outbound pipelines connected with the natural gas high-pressure pipeline network of Chaozhou and national trunk and branch pipeline networks.

The phase I project will have a total investment of around RMB7.399 billion, including RMB2.3 billion for LNG ships, while phase II project will have an investment of RMB4 billion. All construction funds will be raised by Huaying Natural Gas Co., Ltd.
