India Conducts Sunset Review on Methylene Chloride from China

On August 31, 2020 India announced that it decided to conduct the first sunset review on methylene chloride originating from China, as requested by Indian firms Gujarat Fluorochemicals Ltd., TGV SRAAC Ltd. and Chemplast Sanmar Ltd. The investigation will cover dumping that allegedly occurred from April 1, 2019 to March 31, 2020 and injury that allegedly occurred from April 1, 2016 to March 31, 2020.

India investigated methylene chloride from China and Russia as early as 2015, and in 2016 imposed five-year anti-dumping duties – US$122.14-279.78/metric ton applying to Chinese firms and US$219/metric ton applying to Russian companies.
