The Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE) will cooperate with related departments to make work plan 2020 to decrease import volume of solid wastes to zero at the end of 2020. Penalty for illegal dumping, piling up and disposal of foreign solid wastes in China greatly increased, according to revised Law of the People's Republic of China on the Prevention and Control of Environmental Pollution by Solid Wastes. By April 30, China’s solid waste imports had reached 2.49 million tons, down 47.3% YoY.
