An important chemical industry base in China, the Yangtze River economic zone (YRE Zone) is home to a large number of chemical firms. Hence, standardizing chemical parks is a key task set in Plan to Protect and Restore Ecological Environment of the Yangtze River, which made over 900 chemical firms relocate, switch to other products, shut down or transform in 2019. More targets of the plan are to be achieved by means of more scientific ways, like stricter criteria that are likely to urge chemical players to optimize layout, upgrade or innovate.
