China Petroleum Engineering Wins 600 kt/a ABS Project

China Petroleum Engineering Co., Ltd. announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, CNPC Jilin Chemical Engineering won the 600 kt/a acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) project and engineering procurement construction (EPC) contract for supporting facilities of CNPC Jilin (Jieyang) Branch at RMB4.621 billion. 

   The project has a total investment of RMB6.5 billion, designed to produce high-end general-purpose materials and specialty materials, as well as methyl methacrylate (MMA) and acetonitrile, using raw materials propylene, styrene monomer (SM) and butadiene (BD) from CNPC Guangdong petrochemical project. Construction mainly includes a 600 kt/a ABS plant, a 130 kt/a acrylonitrile (ACN) plant, a 4 kt/a acetonitrile plant, a 50 kt/a MMA plant and 150 kt/a waste acid regeneration unit and is expected to last for 30 months.
