Founded on December 10, 2019 in Chongqing, southwest China, Gas Storage Technical Standard Committee is to research and make standards related to site selection, construction and operation of gas storage. The committee plans to spend five years establishing a technical standard system for gas storage.

   Guidance for enterprises, the system currently includes 53 standards, involving site selection & program demonstration, engineering design, construction, production & operation, and waste disposal. Fifteen standards are to be researched in 2020, regarding terms of gas storage, parameter design of gas reservoir capacity, ground engineering design specification of salt cavern type gas storage, etc.
