First Chemical Industry Project in Djibouti Funded by CIHC Starts Construction

On December 10, 2017, the Djibouti Lake Assal Sodium Bromide Project, in which CCCC Industrial Investment Holding Co., Ltd. (“CIHC”) invested, held construction commencement ceremony in Djibouti.
The project is the first chemical industry project in Djibouti. Phase I of the project will build a 20 000 t/a sodium bromide facility and supporting desalination system and power stations, etc. The scheduled construction period is 12 months, and the plant is expected to be completed and put into operation by the end of 2018. Phase II of the project will increase the annual output of sodium bromide to 52 000 tons, and at the same time, fund and build a supporting chlor-alkali project, a desalination unit and power station.
