Dome Structure of Cryogenic Ethane Receiver Storage Tank in Place

The 400 000 cubic meter/a low-temperature ethane receiving station project of Jiangsu SP Chemicals (Taixing) Co., Ltd. made a significant progress recently - the dome structure of gas storage tank was successfully installed in place with the help of air pressure. For importing ethane from the U.S., China has started to construct more related infrastructures.
The project is jointly designed and constructed by Shanghai Tigery Gas Engineering Co., Ltd. (TGE) operated by CIMC Enric Holding Co., Ltd. and Nanjing Yangtze Petrochemical Design Engineering Co., Ltd., which mainly provides import storage and transportation services for SP Chemicals’ 1.1 million t/a comprehensive utilization project of light hydrocarbons. The project includes one 120 000 cubic meter/a propane cryogenic tank, two 120 000 cubic meter/a ethane (propane) cryogenic tanks, two 3 000 cubic meter/a propylene spherical tanks, two 2 000 cubic meter/a mixed C4 spherical tanks, two 2 000 cubic meter/a cracking gasoline tanks, twelve 250 cubic meter/a liquid methane tanks and pipe rack between the tank farm and the terminal and downstream production facilities.
Started in June 2016, the project is expected to be put into operation partially in January 2019 and will be completed in April 2019.
